Champaign County Circuit Clerk Katie Blakeman has been appointed to the e-Business Technical Committee of the Illinois Supreme Court.
The 11-member committee includes judges, circuit clerks, information-technology professionals, county chief information officers, industry representatives and staff from the Administrative Office of Illinois Courts.
The committee was appointed to develop detailed standards for data exchange in e-business projects, working with e-business partners, case-management vendors, state agencies and other stakeholders, as appropriate, to define criteria for each specific e-business application assigned.
A primary goal is to assist the courts in moving to a National Information Exchange Model standard, providing increased efficiency and consistency in e-business projects throughout the state.
"It is an honor to have been chosen to serve on this committee, and I am looking forward to being able to contribute to e-business policies on a state-wide level. Our work will set the standard for e-business in the courts for decades to come," Blakeman said.
